Following the announcement of MANDELA My Life: The Official Exhibition, Melburnians and history fanatics have been eagerly awaiting ticket purchase. Today, on the centenary celebration of Mandela’s birth, tickets to the exhibition’s world premiere in Melbourne, Australia have been released.

The exhibition, which is a commemoration of Nelson Mandela’s life and time, will be held at Melbourne Museum, Australia’s leading Museum. Produced and promoted by Australian companies iEC Exhibitions!, the Lead Global Producer and TEG, Australia’s leading ticketing, live entertainment and data analytics company, this will be the first time such a comprehensive collection of Mandela’s artefacts and memorabilia will leave South Africa. Through original artefacts, rare and amazing film, sound and imagery, immersive multi-media environments and scenic re-creations, visitors of all ages will engage with and honour the legacy of this extraordinary world leader.

Melbourne was one of Mandela’s earliest international visits in October 1990 after his release from prison. During his trip, Mandela received the highest civic honour the city can bestow – the Freedom of the City. Lynley Marshall, CEO Museums Victoria, said “at Museums Victoria we tell human stories that inspire us and connect us to each other and the world around us. The story of Nelson Mandela is fundamentally one of inspiration and hope; the story of how one man prevailed against extraordinary odds to lead and unite a fractured nation.”

MANDELA My Life: The Official Exhibition is endorsed by the Nelson Mandela Foundation, which was established by Mandela in 1999 as his post-presidential office and vehicle for his vast charitable, rural development and diplomatic work. The foundation is the custodian of much of Mandela’s personal collection of documents, photographs and memorabilia.

After exclusively opening in Melbourne, Australia, the Mandela exhibition will tour up to 20 international cities and will be reviewed by an estimated 2.7 million visitors. Don’t miss your chance to view this new, world-class, collections rich exhibition before it leaves Australia.
